postheadericon Photographers - Do You HATE Those Pesky Shadows?

can I get questions all the time from my shadow photographs of students and how to get rid of them.

The bad news is, the shadows are always a problem for photographers.

The good news is, there are some simple "fixes ".

First, what causes a shadow? Well, obviously that is caused by light hitting your subject, rather than kicking in the background behind them.

So, if you have problems with shadows falling on the background, one way to remove the shadow is to remove the background. Obviously, if there is nothing for the shadows fall on, voila! No shadows.

So, to fix the number one would be -. Remove background

If you're shooting outdoors, the position of the object, so that

is nothing behind them! Easy.

If you are indoors, obviously can not break down the walls, but you can move the subject away from them! Shoot them closer to the middle of the room, instead of right up against the wall and the shadow of your problems will disappear.

Another fix it. They have a light that comes on the back

If you use the "Studio" lighting setup, after which your subject is lit as you want, add an additional light that strikes only in the background, not an entity.

Think of light as a ball on the billiard table. It will hit the object at a certain angle and reflect at the same angle - like the billiard ball striking the pad and odskakanje.Sjena on the other hand, is always directly in line with the light. So, you can reduce the problem by changing the angle of the shadow of light, so that the shadow falls in the area that will not run in the final photograph.

you can do outdoors by moving objects as the light strikes them from the direction you want. Indoors, the studio set, you can move the lights to get the best angle. When shooting with just the camera flash, you can bounce the light off the ceiling or wall to change the angle of the light approaching the subject.

harshness and intensity of shadows caused by the relative

the strength and size lights.

If you have less light intensity, which will also lower

related to the intensity of the shadows. It will still be there, but you May be able to reduce its "confusing effect.

can reduce the intensity of light using less energy, or using the same amount of energy -. Moving, but the light further back

You can change the size of the light - and make it bigger -. With umbrellas, softboxes and scrims

Think of an umbrella or a softbox as the cloud moves between the sun and the subject. It diffuses light as a whole cloud of light source, and not just a small Sun Go out and observe some shade before and after being blocked by clouds. You should see a dramatic difference in the shade.

There are whole books written on this subject, and this message is by no means a comprehensive solution, but it should give you something to

be taken into account.
